OnePlus One gets a permanent price cut of Rs 3,200

OnePlus has reduced the price of its flagship smartphone 'One' by $50 or Rs 3,196, permanently. The smartphone is now available starting around Rs 15,920.

The announcement made on its blog also states that the firm has joined hands with Dropbox to offer a one year Dropbox Pro subscription plus 64GB OnePlus One bundle for only $349.

This offer starts from June 10, for a limited time only, and is valid in the US, Canada and EU. The announcement on price cut comes ahead of the launch of OnePlus Two expected to be announced in the third quarter of 2015.

Lenovo launches new Yoga series laptops and convertibles

Lenovo launched a new range of Yoga series of laptops and convertibles for the Indian market on Tuesday. Powered by Intel chipsets, the new series include four devices priced between Rs. 30,490 to Rs. 1,14,990.

The Yoga 300, priced at Rs 30,490, is a multi-mode device that doubles up as a laptop, stand, tent and tablet due to its 360 degrees rotation.

Yahoo to shut down Maps, some other services

Yahoo Inc said it was shutting down a few of its services, including Yahoo Maps, as it realigns itself to focus on search and digital content.

Maps.yahoo.com will shut down by the end of this month, Amotz Maimon, Yahoo 's chief architect, said in a blog post, as the service faces intense competition from Google Inc's Maps service.

Yahoo's search and other services including photo-sharing website Flickr will still support Yahoo Maps, Maimon said.

Apple to launch watch in 7 more countries from June 26

Apple Inc said it would launch its watch in seven more countries, including Italy, Mexico, Spain and South Korea, from June 26, as demand surpasses expectations "in every way".

The company has not given any sales figures for the Apple Watch since it began taking orders in April, but has often said demand was outstripping supply.

The watch will also be launched in Singapore, Switzerland and Taiwan. It is currently available in the United States, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan and the UK.

Windows 10 available on July 29, says Microsoft

Microsoft Corp said on Monday its new Windows 10 operating system will be available worldwide on July 29, as a free upgrade for users of the most recent versions of Windows.

The world's largest software company had earlier said Windows 10 would be released this "summer".

Touch-friendly Windows 10, which features the return of the Start menu and will run across PCs, tablets and smartphones, is Microsoft's latest attempt to win over mobile users and features a new browser called 'Edge'.

It will be offered as a free upgrade to users of Windows 7 and 8.1, a strategy announced in January, designed to capture as many users as possible.

Microsoft also said new PCs and tablets running Windows 10 will go on sale July 29, while Windows 10 for other devices such as smartphones would be available later this year.

Microsoft to open India's first digital experience centre in Vadodara

Microsoft will open the country's first Digital Experience Centre in Vadodara in collaboration with the Vadodara Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

"Managed by Microsoft's distributor Ingram Micro, the centre will help businesses, institutions, partners and individuals gain a first-hand experience of modern technologies on devices running Microsoft software, including Windows apps and Office 365.Microsoft," Manohar Hotchandani, Director, Business Development at Microsoft India announced in Vadodara on Thursday.
