Videocon launches Infinium Z51 Punch, Infinium Z51Q Star smartphones

Videocon Mobiles on Tuesday launched two smartphones Infinium Z51 Punch  and Infinium Z51Q Star.
The Infinium Z51Q Star launched at Rs 5,490 has a five-inch display with a 2000 mAh battery.  The phone has Android 4.4.2 (kit kat) operating system. It sports a 5 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front camera.
The camera has features such as auto focus with LED flash and panorama shot.
It has 8 GB internal memory expandable up to 32 GB and 1.2 GHz processor.
The dual sim phone has a SC7731 quad core chipset.
The Infinium Z51 Punch priced at 5,999 sports a five inch screen with 3,000 mAh battery.
It has a 8 MP rear camera and 5 MP front camera. The camera has features such as auto focus with LED flash, flash, face detection, geo tagging and panorama shot. The phone has 8 GB internal memory expandable up to 32 GB. It sports a 1.2 Ghz processor.
Both phones have 1 GB RAM.

Apple sells more than 13 mn iPhone 6s, 6s Plus phones in first weekend

Apple said on Monday it had sold more than 13 million iPhone 6s and 6s Pluses during their first weekend of availability in 12 markets, setting a record for its marquee product.
Although sales surpassed analysts' expectations of 12 million to 13 million units, shares of Apple fell more than 1 per cent. This suggested investors remained skeptical that Apple can improve on the demand for the previous iPhone, which propelled the company to its most profitable quarter ever, said IDC analyst John Jackson.

Google to allow Gmail users to block, unsubscribe emails

Google has now introduced 'block' and 'unsubscribe' features for its Gmail service that will allow users to block email IDs and unsubscribe from newsletters with a few clicks.
Using the new features, users can block specific email addresses in Gmail on the web and over the next week on Android, Google said in a blogpost.

Google celebrates 17th birthday with nostalgic doodle

Google has marked its 17th birthday with a nostalgic Doodle harking back to 1990s' web.
The doodle, which features on Google's homepage, shows a retro, plastic PC, lava lamp and even 1998's "Google!" logo.
The Linux penguin peeps from behind a CRT monitor displaying the first Google home page. Humming on its side is a server made of Lego bricks. Google looks back at its early days in its '17th birthday doodle.'

How much does your Facebook account earn?

Do you know what is your worth on Facebook? About $13-according to an analysis of the social networking site's ad revenues this year.
Facebook, with 1.5 billion users, stands to make $12.76 in ad revenue off each user worldwide and about $48.76 off each user in the US, according to data from research firm eMarketer.
According to the firm's estimates, Facebook will capture nearly 65 per cent of the total social ad spending worldwide in 2015, CNET reported.

Microsoft Office 365 users to get Office 2016 for free


Microsoft has said that all users who have a subscription of Office 365, which is a cloud-based service, will get the new Office 2016 for free.
Other users can purchase the new suite, which is available in 14 Indian languages and 47 languages globally, starting September 23.
"Office 365 subscribers can choose to download the new Office 2016 apps as part of their subscription. Automatic updates will begin rolling out to consumer subscribers next month," the company said.

Samsung launches Galaxy Note5, price starts at Rs 53,900

Samsung Electronics on Wednesday launched its flagship Galaxy Note5 in India at a price starting at Rs 53,900.

The Galaxy Note5 is available in the Indian market at a price of Rs 53,900 for the 32GB variant and Rs 59,900 for the 64GB variant," Samsung India Vice President (Marketing, IT and Mobile) Asim Warsi said in a statement in Bengaluru.
"The smartphone will be available in Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium colours", he added.

Microsoft begins worldwide release of Office 2016

Microsoft Corp said it has begun the worldwide roll-out of Office 2016, the latest addition to its cloud-based subscription service Office 365, on Tuesday.
Microsoft said Office 2016 brings new versions of desktop apps for Windows including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Access and allows people to collaborate and work together.

Facebook to soon have 'Dislike' button

Looks as if the social networking site has finally listened to its nearly 1.5 billion Facebook users. According to its CEO Mark Zuckerberg, a "Dislike" button is soon coming to Facebook that will let you reveal true feelings on your friends' wall or respond to anti-humanity posts.
During an event at the company's headquarters in Menlo Park, Caifornia, on Tuesday, Zuckerberg said, "I think people have asked about the dislike button for many years. Today is a special day because today is the day I can say we're working on it and shipping it".

Motorola launches Moto X Play in India at Rs 18,499

Motorola on Monday launched Moto X Play smartphone in India with 21 MP rear camera and 3630 mAh battery at a competitive price of Rs 18,499.
The 21MP camera with CCT flash with dual LEDs, Quick Capture, f/2.0 aperture stands out. The front camera is of 5MP. Its camera has features like slow mo, burst, night mode and auto HDR.

The smartphone is the first ever Moto device with an Octa-core processor and provides 4G dual sim support, Motorolasaid.
The smartphone has a screen size of 14 cm (5.5inch) full HD display screen with 403ppi. With 2 GB RAM it has an expandable memory of 128 GB.
The company claims the smartphone will work for over 30 hours in a single charge with its 3630 mAh battery.

Apple launches iPad Pro with Apple Pencil and a smart keyboard

Apple has finally launched a bigger version of the iPad at the press event in San Francisco, after months of speculation. The iPad Pro features a 12.9 inch display and Apple CEO Tim Cook referred it as the ""biggest news in iPad since the iPad."
The new iPad Pro continues to have the same design as of theiPad Air 2 with a slightly larger display. It supports split view multitasking where two apps can run side by side. The tablet has a new LED-backlit display with a 2732x2030 pixel resolution and is powered by Apple's A9X 64-bit tri-core 1.5GHz processor. It is paired with 2GB of RAM and will be available in 64GB and 128GB internal storage variants.

Toshiba launches Ultrabook at Rs 1.3 lakh

Toshiba has announced the launch of its new 2-in-1 detachable Ultrabook, the Portege Z20t, at Rs 1.3 lakh.
The Toshiba Portege Z20t, aimed at business users, features a 12.5 inch full HD display and is housed in a fan-less chassis with a premium, black finish.
In tablet mode, it is 8.8 mm thin and weights 730 grams whereas in the laptop mode it weights 1.5 kgs. It is powered by Intel Core M processor and has Intel HD graphics.

Samsung launches Galaxy Note 5 for Rs 53,900 in India

After launching the Galaxy S6 Edge+ a couple of weeks ago,Samsung on Monday announced the launch of the Galaxy Note 5 in India. The flagship Note device was announced at a press event at New York last month. The Galaxy Note 5 has been priced at Rs 53,900 for 32GB and Rs 59,900 for 64GB and will be avilable starting September 20.
The Galaxy Note 5 features a slimmer compact design and uses new materials. It has an ergonomic design and a curved back to make it fit comfortably in a single hand. With a 7.5-mm thin body, the Note 5 packs in a 5.7-inch Corning Gorilla Glass 4 display with  1440x2560 pixel resolution. It runs on Android Lollipop operating system with a Touch Wiz UI.

Gionee launches dual-sim F103 smartphone at Rs 9,999

Chinese firm Gionee has launched new F103 smartphone at Rs 9,999. The phone has a five-inch HD ISP display. The phone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with Amigo 3.0 skin on top.
It is powered by a 1.3-GHz Quad-Core, 64 Bit processor. The phone has 2 GB RAM and 16 GB ROM and supports 4G services. Its sports a 8.0 MP primary camera with LED flash and a 5 MP secondary camera.

The phone also enables HD video recording. The phone has features such as face beauty, panorama (Horizontal), geo-tagging, touch focus, 20 Snaps In One Click, Pic Note,Take Anytime, Filters, HDR Mode, Take Anytime and Filter.
The dual-SIM phone has a battery capacity of 2400 mAh. It has a standby time of 267 hours (4G), 185 hours (3G) and 240 hours (2G).
South Korean electronics firm Samsung said on Wednesday said it is launching Galaxy Tab S2 at Rs 39,400. The company claimed that it is the world's slimmest tablet.
"The Galaxy Tab S2 is the world's slimmest tablet. The Galaxy Tab S2 combines features that enhance productivity and usability for a complete user experience powered by 4G data connectivity and speed," Manu Sharma, director, mobile business at Samsung Electronics, said.

"We believe the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is the most complete personal visual device designed for consumers to carry and use anywhere," Sharma said.
"Given our commitment to the Indian market, the Galaxy Tab S2 is another contribution of Samsung to the Make in India campaign. This product will be made in India and made for India," he added.
The new tablet will come with a 9.7-inch version with Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, LTE, 32 GB in-built memory expandable up to 128 GB with external storage. It will be available for sale across all retail outlets from September 2 onwards. In India, the Galaxy Tab S2 comes pre-loaded with Galaxy gifts worth Rs 31,000.
The tablet will be powered by Samsung's Exynos octa-core processor (Quad 1.9GHz + Quad 1.3GHz) and a 3 GB RAM unit.
The rear eight-megapixel camera will come with auto-focus and the lens will have an aperture of f1.9. The front camera will be a 2.1-megapixel unit. The tablet will draw power from a 5,870 mAH battery.
