At a press conference in New Delhi, smartphone maker YU has announced the launch of its new smartphone, Yuphoria. This is the second smartphone in the YU portfolio and has been priced aggressively at Rs 6,999.
The first smartphone under the YU brand - Yureka - was launched in December last year.
The YU Yuphoria is expected to pose tough competition to the recently launched Xiaomi Redmi 2 featuring the same processor and 1 GB of RAM.
Recently, Micromax has also launched the Canvas Spark, a 4.7-inch device powered by MediaTek processor, 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB internal storage. The Canvas Spark was launched for Rs 4,999.
The Yuphoria features a 5-inch HD Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display in a metal frame with rounded edges. It packs in a 1.2-Ghz Snapdragon 410 quad core, 64-bit processor and is paired with 2 GB of RAM. It runs on Cyanogen OS 12 based on Android Lollipop out of the box, and has 16 GB of internal storage.
