Not one to be left behind by competitors in the affordable smartphone rat race, Motorola India has announced a cut of Rs 3,000 in the price of its popular handset Moto G 2nd Gen.
The device is now available on Flipkart for Rs 9,999, against an earlier price tag of Rs 12,999.
Chinese handset maker Xiaomi has raised its game in the past few days to cash in on the Indian affordable smartphone segment, announcing a cut in prices of its Redmi 2 (now Rs 5,999) and Redmi Note 4G (now Rs 7,999).
Recently, international research firm Strategy Analytics said in its report that India will soon overtake the US to become world's second largest smartphone market by 2017 behind China, selling an impressive 174 million units.
