Swipe Technologies, a company that specialises in providing affordable technology through tablets, is planning to launch a sub-brand for its education tablets.
Expected to be launched sometime in August this year, the company is looking at launching a complete ecosystem which includes hardware, android operating system with custom UI as well as content and unique services.
Shripal Gandhi, Founder & CEO, Swipe Technologies, revealed, "A lot of focus will be towards how to enhance this segment. In education, nobody has been able to crack this segment. One third of our population is students. We plan to have the whole value chain that includes hardware, software, content, VAS and services. It will be a Snapdeal for education."
These tablets will come preloaded with some content and students will be able to download more content from the ecosystem Swipe is working on.
The company claims that they are working towards compressing the content/data so that it is easy to download. The Pune-based company had launched an education tablet in the past, customising the content for colleges and institutes.
